Office of the Minnesota Secretary of State Hosts 2025 Elections Security Conference
SAINT PAUL – The Office of the Minnesota Secretary of State held a two-day Election Security Conference for county election and IT officials at Camp Ripley in Morrison County. The conference included tabletop training exercises, panel discussions, workshops, and focus groups.
Election and IT officials from 42 counties attended the conference and heard presentations from the Office of the Minnesota Secretary of State and state and federal partners including Minnesota Fusion Center, Minnesota County IT Leadership Association (MNCITLA), Minnesota IT Services, the Minnesota National Guard, Homeland Security and Emergency Management (HSEM), the Office of Intelligence and Analysis of the Department of Homeland Security, and the U.S. Postal Inspection Service.
“All elections are local and rely on the work of tens of thousands of Minnesotans,” said Minnesota Secretary of State Steve Simon. “At these conferences, we’re able to bring leaders from across the state and country to strengthen relationships and provide training on best practices for conducting free, fair, and secure elections.”
The next statewide elections will be held in 2026. However, many cities and counties will have local elections throughout 2025. Minnesotans can find out if there is an upcoming election in their area using the Pollfinder Tool at mnvotes.gov/pollfinder.
